The First Big Snow Day

It has snowed a couple of times this winter, but there hasn't been a substantial snowfall yet. Today, we woke up to a winter wonderland. The twins have never played in snow before, so I took on the task of getting them both fully dressed for winter weather. Once they were snugly in their snowsuits and boots, I realized they had no gloves!

Fortunately, Becca had a couple of pairs in their size. I don't think they minded that the gloves were pink :)

Eliza was thrilled to go outside! She couldn't wait to jump into the snow.

It only took a couple of minutes for Ezra and Elliott's excitement to fade. They quickly realized that snow is cold and became very unhappy.

Eliza was pretty upset when we went back inside, but the babies were fine with drinking juice and getting warm!
Fortunately, Becca and Kyle saved the day. They were playing outside on their sled with Ruby and invited Eliza to go down and play. She put her snow clothes back on and ran out the door. She was so excited to play with Ruby.
They took turns pulling each other on the sled and couldn't stop laughing despite the cold.

Once Ruby was thoroughly frozen (her gloves got a little wet), the girls finally decided to come back inside.

I'm glad they had a good time and even happier that I didn't have to stay outside for very long. Thanks, Becca and Kyle!

  1. That snow storm was crazy! At least Eliza had a good time, even if the boys didn't. I don't blame them. Snow's great and all, but only for so long.
