Something I really love about the jobs Nathan and I have is the fact that we can work anywhere. As long as there is an internet connection, we are good to go. We decided to take advantage of this perk this summer and plan on staying on in Othello for most of July. The drive to Washington is quite dangerous during the winter, so we know this will probably be our only trip for several months. Eliza has been begging to see her grandparents and our annual family reunion is the second week of the month, so we figured we might as well stay a little while if we were travelling 1600 miles round trip!
The drive here wasn't the best. Ezra was throwing up Sunday morning (when we planned on leaving), so we delayed our trip until Monday. To make travelling conditions even more unbearable, it was a blistering 106 degrees in Utah that day and even hotter in Idaho and eastern Washington.
Ezra was fine that morning and then started throwing up about an hour into the trip. I felt so terrible for the little guy. Fortunately, he didn't throw up again, and we made it to Othello about 12 hours later.
Eliza is thrilled to be back "at her house." She has been jumping on the trampoline nonstop and the boys are in heaven with the sandbox and dump trucks. Ezra and Elliott have also discovered that they love jumping on the trampoline with their big sister. Nathan and I are happy to be with family and near some of our dear friends. And of course, everyone is happy to see Grandma and Grandpa!
Nathan and I even went on a date tonight to see Man of Steel! We have certainly missed having grandparents who watch our sleeping babies so we can go out occasionally. Eliza was so cute that I had to take a picture before we left.
The best part about the movie is that the theater was completely deserted. Ahh...the perks of living in a small town.
