Brobee and Plex

It's no secret that all of our kids love Yo Gabba Gabba. Nathan and I have every episode memorized, and our children can frequently be found dancing to songs like "Don't Bite Your Friends" and "There's a Party in My Tummy." So, when I saw these adorable pajamas at Walmart for $5.97, I just had to buy them!
Ezra and Elliott were so happy to put these pajamas on!

Eliza didn't want to feel left out, so she ran and put on a Yo Gabba Gabba t-shirt.
Our kids all dancing around to Yo Gabba Gabba makes me really happy.

A Picture is Worth A Least a Few Sentences

There are three thoughts that come to mind when I look at this photo:
1) I agree with Nathan when he says this is the boys' future baby yearbook photo.
2) We need two potties.
3) I love having two little guys who are already such good friends. Look at our unbelievably adorable they are!

And don't worry-- we already ordered two new potties. We aren't going to make them share :)

Halloween Desserts

Eliza has been begging to do a "Halloween craft." She specifically asked that the craft involve brownies, which sounded like an excellent idea to me! We invited Becca and Ruby over, and the girls got to work decorating their brownies (while dressed like princesses, of course).

Obviously, no decorating would be complete without licking the icing spoon clean!
The twins were pretty excited to watch the brownie decorating because they knew a treat was coming :)
And yes, they definitely need haircuts. These little mullets are getting a little out of control.

I'm trying to come up with different holiday crafts to break up the monotony of being at home all day long. Even though Eliza has preschool and ballet two days a week and swimming classes once a week, I feel like we are constantly bored now that the weather has gotten colder. I love Utah, but I forgot how winter means very limited outdoor activities. It's really no consolation thinking about spring being over six months away. Hopefully, it goes by rather quickly!

The Big Red Barn

On Thursday, we decided to go to The Big Red Barn in Santaquin with the Vaughn Family. Becca went last year and remembered they had lots of fun activities for kids at a reasonable price. She also let us know they have most delicious apple cider donuts, so we were pretty excited about the trip.

We got there early enough in the day to avoid all crowds which was a definite bonus. A tractor with a wagon was waiting to take us out to the pumpkin patch and all of the various activities. The kids were pretty excited for the tractor ride, and the view was pretty amazing.

We arrived at the activity area, and Eliza and Ruby immediately ran to pose in this head-in-the-hole painting.
We then headed towards the peddle go-carts which were surprisingly pretty fun.

Ruby and Eliza saw the giant slides and ran off towards the next adventure. There was a smaller slide and a huge slide. I was terrified that the kids would get hurt in the larger slide, so we mostly stuck to the small slider. Nathan got brave towards the end and took the boys down the big slide.

The twins then led us to the apple crate maze, which they had been trying to escape to for some time. They loved running through the maze! They were hysterically laughing the entire time. Eliza and Ruby weren't the biggest fans, but it was definitely the best thing the boys did.

Finally, we headed into the pumpkin patch and picked out our pumpkins.

Ezra and Elliott let Nathan carry the pumpkin they selected, but Eliza insisted on carrying her own pumpkin.

I think everyone was happy with their pumpkin selection!
While we waited for the tractor with the hayride to return, we explored the vintage truck that was out and loaded with pumpkins. It was the pretty idyllic spot for some photos.

We would have stayed longer, but it was suddenly freezing, and we were all miserable in the cold. Fortunately, the sun came out on the 10 minute ride back to the main location. (And if Becca looks especially miserable, it's because she had just left the dentist when we decided to go to The Big Red Barn and her mouth was numb. She's a trooper!)

We were really looking forward to the famed apple cider doughnuts once we returned the Big Red Barn store, but they were sadly sold out! We decided to drown our woes with some hot chocolate and caramel apples.
Overall, it was a great family outing and fairly inexpensive. Compared to some of the other fall activity locations in Utah, it was a steal. We will certainly be coming back next year!

Eliza the Cheerleader

I'm not sure how the idea came to Eliza, but she suddenly announced she needed a cheerleading uniform. I think the obvious explanation is that she saw cheerleaders on television when Becca and I were watching a football game, thought the cheerleaders were pretty, and immediately decided she needed a new outfit. Regardless of how she came to this conclusion, the fact of the matter is that obtaining a cheerleading costume has been a goal of Eliza's for some time now.

In fact, a couple of weeks ago, Nathan and I tried to appease her cheerleading costume desire by buying her a BYU t-shirt. This is how it went:
If you can't clearly see her expression, I'll just let you know she is scowling at her reflection. She is obviously not amused. She repeatedly told me, "I wanted to be a cheerleader! I didn't want to wear a shirt!"

Well, I am happy to inform you that Eliza's prayers (she literally prayed for it all the time) were answered today. Her Papa sent her some birthday money, and she decided all she wanted was the costume (of course). I was happy to send these pictures to my dad. He really got her the perfect gift!

The Glasses Arrived

Eliza's new glasses are here! She and I are both obsessed with them. Aren't they perfect for her?
I think she could definitely have a career modeling glasses.
